3rd Workshop on Advanced Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equation Analysis 30.08 - 01.09 2010
The 3rd Workshop on Advanced Methods for Partial Differential Equation Analysis for PhD students and junior scientists is organized by the Euler International Mathematical Institute (Saint-Petersburg) and the Mathematical Information Technology Department of the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland).
The first SCOMA Workshop on Advanced Computer Simulation Methods for PhD students and junior scientists was organized by the Mathematical Information Technology Department of the University of Jyvaskyla(Finland) during 29 - 30 March 2007.
The second Workshop on Advanced Computer Simulation Methods for PhD students and junior scientists took place in Saint-Petersburg on 27-29 April 2009.
Aims and Scope
Workshop is intended to expose results of junior researchers (undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD students, post doctoral researchers) working in mathematics, physics, economy and biology. Workshop is focused on quantitative analysis of mathematical models associated with differential and integration equations.
mathematical analysis of models based on partial differential equations, approximation, asymptotic analysis and a priory error estimates;
a posteriori error estimation, error indicators and adaptivity;
new mathematical models in applied science and engineering.
The program includes 20 minutes presentations (15 min talk and 5 min discussion) of young scientists and three 50 min lectures of invited lecturers that will overview the state of the art and open problems in actual rapidly developing fields of the modern applied analysis.
Also an open round table discussion is planned. Within it is framework new problems, trends and advances in numerical analysis of PDE's will be discussed.
