First of all let me thank you again for organizing the beautiful conference CASC'98 in St.Petersburg and for accepting me to give a talk there.
I discovered that having a conference in St.Petersburg is a most enriching experience, both form the scientific and entertaining point of view. The organization of the conference was excellent. ( In particular, I greatly appreciated the very readable and pedagogically written book "Russian for Mathematicians" ! ) Russian participants were very generous with their time and especially available for embarking upon long discussions about Mathematics and its history.
The EIMI is an ideally situated place for scientific work. The administrative personnel is extremely kind, helpful and competent. They take care of all potential problems very efficiently. Emphasis should be given to the fact that the computing facilities at EIMI are of very fine quality.
The amazing ambience of the city with its many historical sights and cultural activities contributes to the general impression that St.Petersburg is one of the most interesting cities of the Baltic Sea.
In conclusion, once you have been there, only one thing comes to mind, how to come again !
