     III. Subject and form of proposed joint work (a few phrases)

Identification of parameters in exponentially damped decay processes of
excited atom states arising in laser physics.  Photon emissions are
observed against time.  Mathematical statistical methods will be used to
estimate the signal and to quantify the degree of uncertainty.  Methods may
include modified Prony methods and nonlinear generalized linear models.
