Seminar on low-dimensional mathematics "Moscow-Petersburg" March 14, 2003 David Bessis (Lyon-Moscow). Title : "Presentations for braid groups of complex reflection groups". Abstract : "The classical braid group introduced by Artin is the fundamental group of the space of regular orbits for the symmetric group, seen as a complexified type A reflection group. Later, Brieskorn proved that generalized braid groups associated to other real reflection groups also admit nice presentations, obtained by forgetting the quadratic relations in the Coxeter presentation. A few years ago, Brou\'e-Malle-Rouquier studied braid groups associated to complex reflection groups; they computed presentations for all cases but six exceptions. In a recent work with Jean Michel, we obtained the six remaining presentations." -------------- Seminar home-page http://www.pdmi.ras.ru/~lowdimma
