Representations of the fundamental groups of algebraic curves
in positive characteristic

The link between represenations of the fundamental group of Riemann surfaces
and vector bundles is well known (Weil, Narasimhan and Seshadri) although
non trivial. In positive characteristic, the sitution is much more
complicated. For instance, the fundamental group almost uniquely determines
the curve (Raynaud, Tamagawa), in contrast with the complex case where it
only determines the genus. We will discuss these questions with a special
attention to the case of positive characteristic.
