The Institute of Philosophy of the St. Petersburg State University and the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society with the support of the St. Petersburg Government and with the support of the Russian Foundation for Humanitarian Research organize the International Scientific and Educational Forum Days of Philosophy in St. Petersburg - 2014 to be held from 20 to 22 November, 2014.
In the frame of this Forum, the Round Table The Dialogue of Philosophy and Mathematics in the Contemporary Culture will be held on November 21, 2014 from 16:00 to 19:00 at the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (or PDMI), at the address: 27, Fontanka (Marble Hall), St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Round Table The Dialogue of Philosophy and Mathematics in the Contemporary Culture is endorsed by the Collège universitaire français de Saint-Pétersbourg (or CUF), which is a higher education institution located in St. Petersburg, Russia, and by the Sorbonne Université in Paris, France.
The Round Table is intended to provide a forum for philosophers, mathematicians, logicians, computer scientists and linguists who are interested in interdisciplinary research and want to discuss the fundamental problems of interaction between mathematics and philosophy. Among the subjects to be discussed are: the role of philosophical concepts in mathematics, the role of mathematical ideas in philosophy, conditions and efficiency criteria of mathematical and philosophical methods in natural sciences and humanities, the role of philosophical reflection on mathematics and its methods, philosophical problems arising in computer science, and some others.
The working languages of the Round Table are English, French and Russian.

The format of Round Table includes an exchange of views on the discussed issues between the discussants and the audience. Each talk is allotted a 15-minute time slot, including time for questions and discussion.
