Final Announcement


International Algebraic Conference dedicated to the 70th birthday of Anatoly Yakovlev will take place on June 19 - 24, 2010 at St. Petersburg Department of the V. A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Science.

The Conference will be opened on June 19 at 10.00.
The registration of participants will take place on the 1st floor of the institute on June 18 from 17.00 to 20.00 and on June 19 from 9.00 to 10.00. The participants who plan to arrive later may register during the breaks.

The Program includes 18 plenary talks and more than 120 section talks in 4 sections:
Algebraic geometry, algebraic number theory and Galois theory
Algebraic groups, representation theory and Lie algebras
Homological algebra, ring theory
Group theory

The scheduled duration of a plenary talk is 50 min, and that of a section talk is 30 or 40 minutes. However, the organizers are ready to take into account individual wishes. Rooms will be equipped with computers and projectors.

ABSTRACTS. The abstracts will be published before the start of the conference and placed on the Web also.

TRANSPORTATION. If you arrive by plane, please, give the details of your arrival (company, flight, scheduled time, etc.) to iac@imi.ras.ru if you did not send it yet, so that we could pick you up at the "Pulkovo" international airport. (Look for the poster "IAC 2010"). Alternatively, you may take bus no.13 at "Pulkovo" international terminal, bus no.39 at the domestic terminal, or any minibus which will bring you to the metro station "Moskovskaya".

THE REGISTRATION FEE totals 120 Euro (or its equivalent in Roubles), to be paid at the start of the conference in cash. It is not to be paid by plenary speakers. It is 60 Euro for students. For the Russian participants the fee is covered partly by the Organizing Committee, so it is 1000 rub. and 500 rub. for students.

SUPPORT is partially available for participants with Russian affiliation. If you have not contacted yet in last few days please inform us as soon as possible.

DOCUMENTS. We ask all participants who need official invitations or other documents of any sort, and who did not receive these documents as of yet, to inform us as soon as possible and to describe precisely the requirements to these documents.

ACCOMMODATION is arranged by the Organizing Committee according to your indications in the registration form and further corretions. In case you change your preferences at the last moment, please inform Mrs. Elena Novikova or Ms. Nadia Zaleska promptly. We kindly ask Russian participants to check their hotel data (hotel Nauka and hotel SPbSU) at http://www.pdmi.ras.ru/EIMI/2010/iac/nauka.html.

ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM. An overview excursion will be organized on June 21 in the evening. A boat trip along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg will take place on June 22. We recommend not to go out after 23.00 at the night 19-20 June due to specific celebration full of wild undergraduates in the city center. MONEY. Euros and US dollars are exchanged by all exchange offices; however, other currencies may cause some difficulties (bad rate or no bank to exchange). Now the average rate is about 38 RBL for 1 euro and about 31.5 RBL for 1 USD. Personal and Traveller's checks, as well as credit cards, are usually accepted at all major banks in the city. Be sure TO AVOID exchanging your currency NEAR exchange offices. Please, keep your money safely, not in the back pocket of your trousers! There are many thieves in metro.
